Frequently Asked Questions

How do I share an e-book, video or article with my students?

The Claremont Colleges Library requests that instructors use the stable link provided in Library Search to share digital Library materials with your students, rather than downloading and re-uploading licensed content to your Canvas course or using third-party tools.

Watch the video below to quickly learn how to find the stable link for your materials with your students.

Course Readings

It is important to note that most academic library e-books, journals, and databases are licensed from publishers, which limits how the content can be shared. If you would like to assign an e-book or streaming video for your course, please use the Course Readings Submission Form at least two weeks before the start of the semester. The Library will prioritize the highest level license possible (commonly 1, 3 or unlimited users at a time) for course readings. Please note that this form does not apply to journal articles.
