The Library is here for you during reading days and finals week! Check out our Night Owls activities taking place December 7-15 that will create space for brain breaks, de-stressing, snack, food and coffee breaks, and so much more! As is tradition, we will also be keeping the building open all day (24 hours!) between December 12-15.
Also be sure to visit and bookmark our Night Owls Guide to stay up-to-date on the various Library-hosted events listed below and to access resources such as self-care tips, mindfulness and meditation tools, links to our leisure reading collections, and more.

(Click the links to see time and location details and add them to your calendar.)
Night Owls Bingo (December 7-15) – Print or pick up this bingo card at the Main Services Desk and bring it with you as you participate in Night Owl activities so that Library staff can stamp your card. Once you complete five in a row in any direction on the bingo card, be sure to turn it in at the Main Services Desk by 5 p.m. on December 15 to be eligible for a raffle drawing for one of several gift cards. Winners will be emailed to arrange a pickup time to get their gift card.
Fireside Writing (December 7 & 14 from 7-9 p.m.) – Need a cozy ambiance to focus on your writing? Come write with fellow 7Cs colleagues in the Founders Room complete with calming music, snacks and a (virtual) fireplace. Librarians will also be there to offer research consultations and help you with your citations.
Snack Breaks (December 8, 9, 12, 13 & 14 from 3-4 p.m.) – Take a breather from preparing for finals and enjoy a snack break! Library staff will be serving up some reenergizing snacks to keep you going through the afternoon.
New! Pomodoro Study (December 9, 12 & 13) – Participate in guided Pomodoro study sessions with restorative breaks. There will also be two gift card raffles per session!
Pizza Night (December 11 from 8-9:30 p.m.) – Join us for Pizza Night! Our Library staff will be on hand to serve up fresh slices of pizza in the Founders Room to jump start your finals week studying.
Craft Night (December 12 from 8-10 p.m. ) – Take a study break with crafts! Join us on Honnold 1 near the Main Services Desk to make DIY glass marble magnets, then store them in an upcycled Altoids tin. The finished magnets make a great practical decoration for a dorm room or you can create themed magnets as a present!
Food Truck Night (December 13 from 8-10 p.m.) – Did someone say free food? Yes! Grab a complimentary sweet treat and/or hot drink from Churro Boss at our Night Owls Food Truck Night – while supplies last! The food truck will be parked at the West Parking Lot located at 8th St. and N. Dartmouth Ave.
Create Holiday Cards (December 14 from 2-5 p.m.) – The Library will co-host a printing pop-up with Professor Jeff Groves (HMC) in the First Floor Press on Honnold 1. Students, faculty and staff are welcome to stop by to pick up one of three typeset holiday card designs and then customize them with your own touches!
Owl See You in the Stacks (follow our socials for alerts!) – Keep an eye out for plush owls we have hidden throughout the Library during finals week. If you find one, bring it to the Main Services Desk on Honnold 1 to redeem your finals week wellness kit prize! Follow us on social media to learn when owls have been hidden and to possibly get clues to their hiding places.
Puzzles & Coloring (December 7-15, all day) – Puzzles and coloring activities are available in Honnold 1 and Mudd 2 as part of Night Owls to help you de-stress and refocus during finals season.
Sanctuary Coffee, Campus – The Library Café, home to Sanctuary Coffee, will have adjusted hours and special offers for students during Night Owls to help fuel you though the evenings, so be sure to drop by!
Huntley Bookstore – During Night Owls, the bookstore, located on Honnold 1, will also have extended hours and will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday.
