Green Get this Item buttonHave you ever found yourself excited to have found what appears to be the perfect article for your research, but holding your breath as you click on the green “Get this item” button? Well, we have good news! We have implemented an enhancement to improve your linking experience.

The new service, called LibKey Link, uses DOIs and PubMed IDs (PMID) to create more stable and reliable links to full text articles, when available. If you click on the green “Get this item” button while in one of our databases and the service can provide you with a direct link to the full text of the article, you will see the following new page directing you to the content.

Once here, simply follow the links to either the PDF or the article page on the publisher’s website, which may provide additional content such as supplementary information. If you like going directly to the PDF, make sure to check the box labeled “Automatically remember format choice for 24 hours.”.

If this new service is unable to handle your request, you will be directed back to our legacy service, which will either provide you with links to the full-text or the option to submit a Resource Sharing (ILL) request.

There is nothing you need to do on your end to start using this service. The next time you see that green button, give it a click so we can get you to that article! Feel free to direct any questions to eresources@claremont.edu.
