The Claremont Colleges Library presents its fall exhibit, “Snapshots: A Brief History of the Founding of The Claremont Colleges.” The exhibit offers a look back at the development of each of the seven colleges and features bibliographic, photographic, and ephemeral materials relating to the seven Claremont Colleges. The “snapshots” provide a peek into the history of The Claremont Colleges starting with the establishment of Pomona College in the late nineteenth century and ending with the founding of Keck Graduate Institute over a century later. Those interested in further exploration are encouraged to check out the exhibit’s “further readings” sections and dive into research at the archives and libraries at The Claremont Colleges.

Materials on display come from the collections of Special Collections at The Claremont Colleges Library, Claremont McKenna College Archives, Ella Strong Denison Library at Scripps College, Pitzer College Archives, and Pomona College Archives.
